The article. Absolutely. This stuff just kills me. My 3-year-old is eating apple slices and watching Scooby-Doo right now, and I am *fine* with that. Is reading at 3 going to really make a difference in her eventual choice of college? No way. And even if she DID get to go to Harvard, that's no guarantee of happiness in life. As long as she has the education to get some kind of a job in which she can support herself and not struggle to get by, an Ivy-league degree is really not going to give you a better life than anything else. Materialism and obsession with status is a trap, and these parents are falling into it under the excuse of doing what's best for their kids.
