Time for a poll...

How much time has to pass before the lack of cashing a check becomes rude? Wedding gift, graduation gift, birthday present, donation to a cause… is there a point at which the failure to cash it can be considered downright rude? I'd like to know what that line is, so I can decide when to start getting offended on two checks that are out there, lingering, in the netherworld. Thanks for your input!

  1. Oh - good lord, do I have one of them?

Otherwise - 6 weeks. With the understanding that I realized this morning that I haven't checked my email in about three weeks. SO I may not be the best judge of this kind of thing...

  2. I don't think it's rude...however the person probably needs a heads up. Didn't you see the Seinfield episode where Jerry cashes a bunch of .25 cent checks from his Grandma???? Drama!!
